Please write a 2 page minimum (typed, double-spaced) reflection paper on the use of a mimimum of 3 film techniques in Citizen Kane. Please describe the specific effect and analyze how its use contributes to the meaning of the film. There are no structural requirements for the paper.
first post!
ReplyDeletesecond post!
ReplyDeletemcelliott! did you see that the last post had 12 comments?! we're getting better i tell you. you just wait. we'll get another 50 some time.
i <3 citizen kane.
Have we finished the whole movie? I don't really remember. So how can we write a reflection paper on it?
ReplyDeleteWhen did we get 50 comments?! Was that for HAMLIT?
ReplyDeleteI liked Day 2 of Citizen Kane much more than Day 1. I think it's because of the Snuggie. Thanks for sharing Jenna :)
And Surabhi, neither class finished the movie, so we're reflecting on the techniques used so far and analyzing their effect on the theme of the film.
12 comments are very impressive!
ReplyDeletemcelliott!!! you commented! that just made my day. no joke.
ReplyDeletecaroline: we got around 50 posts last year. i believe it was around the time of the wtf hawthorne haikus. and i'm a little upset because jenna shared her snuggie with you but wouldn't share it with me!! jerk! (then again, a snuggie is kind of a one person deal)
and just to confirm, our notes on the stories are due monday correct? many people were asking because your post reads due 12/10? its due monday right?
Oh boy! McElliott!!!
ReplyDeleteMaddie, you should be jealous.
And yes, notes and everything short story related are due on Monday when we'll be doing the open ended essay.
Friday Nov. 21, 2008.

It's also where the Long Name mystery begins, and it's really entertaining to read it now knowing that it's Surabhi. She seems kind of schizophrenic.
Is it obvious that I don't really feel like doing the reflection paper right now...?
ohhh long name, how we despise you (yes surabhi, i'm talking about you)
ReplyDeletecan you tell i don't really wanna do the reflection right now either...?
Well I just HAD to go back to our old posting site after Caroline posted our long thread. But I stumbled across this year's junior humanities blog. I noticed a few things:
ReplyDeleteThe funniest quote is definitely "Men are what their mothers made them." I don't know why that one isn't winning.
I would SO rather hang out with Patrick Henry than Benjamin Franklin. Ben would try to have a conversation with himself. Boringgg. I bet Henry spoke really enthusiastically 24/7 (fun!) Even T.Paine would be cooler. He would just speak in aphorisms. (Aren't you proud McElliott...i remembered so many things from HAMLIT)
and lastly...no one comments on those posts. i'm really really tempted to say something. (aka, i'm probably going to say something.) just so that the juniors know its okay to comment. there's always one person who needs to take the initial step. that person is going to be me.
I like how it's not even our class anymore and you still feel obliged to make sure that there are comments on the posts. I'm not really surprised though.
ReplyDeleteseriously though. you can't just comment 4 times (cough caroline and maddie) and pretend it's some sort of feat that there are 11 comments. this is ridiculous. it's 12:07 am. the night is young. aka. just started. awesome.
ReplyDeletebtw. simpson's episode:
Skinner gets fired and Bart goes to visit him at his house. Skinner's mom gets the door and says "He's up in his room. Don't touch the wallpaper."
ape makes simpsons so much better...
i find it kind of sad McElliott commenting made maddies day
